As the state’s “Virginia Is For Lovers” campaign celebrates its 50th year, the Virginia Beach CVB is especially proud to share that a beautiful shot of our famous boardwalk was one of four photos selected to grace the cover of the 2019 Virginia Vacation Guide. According to the state tourism office, destinations which are chosen best represent Virginia’s wide array of travel products. Each year a mountain location, a coastal destination and one other relevant attraction/destination are selected. This year’s locations correlate with feature stories within the Guide, part of the content strategy to feature informative stories about Virginia travel experiences that interest travelers. The Virginia Beach cover is representative of the Guide’s feature story “Fun on the Water: Best Beaches in the State.” The other covers this year feature Dody Ridge, Montvale (outside of Roanoke) and Monticello. This summer, a special edition cover will feature “50 Years of Love – celebrating 50 years since the inception of the iconic ‘Virginia is for Lovers’ brand.” There will soon be 275,000 of the guides in circulation, distributed through the 13 Virginia Welcome Centers, AAA offices, local/regional Visitor Centers and a variety of bulk requests.
