CVC East, a veterinarian trade show, opened today at VBCC. The M&C Team answered the call less than a year ago with a short notice site tour for a Sunday afternoon. To quote our client, “I really liked the feel of the Virginia Beach team and trusted that they would treat our guests well.” Compared to last weekend, VBCC is like a library. Even with the people here, you could hear a pin drop. Very quiet. Look for the motor coaches as the services team shuttles registrants to and from local hotels. Good news! The client gave us the green light on 2017. They’re coming back.
All Hands on Deck at the VBCC
After VBCC hosted U.S. Finals during a busy weekend, a few folks from the VBCC business and VBCC sales teams came down to help with the cleanup. Courtney usually takes the pictures, but this time he was the one caught on camera! Thanks for the extra helping hands Diane Harrison, Rubylee Gardner, Courtney Dyer, James Caralivanos, Sherri Waghalter, and Renee Britt! Also, a big thank you to the VBCC Housekeeping and Set-Up Crew who take care of business on a regular basis!
Teamwork makes the dream work – and we have an awesome team!

VBCC – The Calm Before the Storm
The restrooms are clean, the lobby is ready, thousands of chairs are set, and contractors are working on the finishing touches for the stage. What will you be doing this weekend?
US Finals takes an army to support. VBCC Operations teams have worked hard to set this up, and will work even harder to maintain it over the weekend. The Event Service team has worked tirelessly all year to make this come off flawlessly, and they’ll all be here this weekend. The Business team will be here long hours as well selling tickets to everyone coming through the doors. These folks make the magic happen.
Thanks Sports Marketing for helping us grow and keep this group in Virginia Beach.

USI Steering Committee Comes to the Beach
Virginia Beach had the opportunity to host the 2016 USI Steering Committee Meeting where Information Technology professionals from Destination Marketing Organizations across the country came together to share best practices and network. Additionally, the committee was joined by Justin Ungerboeck, from Ungerboeck Software International, who wanted to hear about some of our successes and challenges in using their flagship Event Business Management software. Many of our CVB and VBCC colleagues were an integral part in the planning and execution of the conference and ensured its success. Great job by Bryan Ryals, Rubylee Gardner, Tanisha Brown, Liz Parker, Sally Noona, Todd Bertka and Bryan Miller for making sure Virginia Beach was well-represented in hosting the national event!
Check out all the great pictures of the event here!
