Team Virginia Beach attended Connect Marketplace 2017 in New Orleans and spent time connecting and networking with colleagues and prospective clients. SAIS Executive Vice President Lori K. Spear, CAE, won the CVB beach cruiser at the annual ASAE trade show in Toronto, Canada.
Virginia Tourism Corporation and CVBs from across the Commonwealth hosted more than 200 guests at an after-hours dessert reception in the Sheraton’s Waterbury Ballroom in New Orleans on Aug. 22 during Connect Association’s Specialty, Corporate and Sport Events conference.

Members of the CVB Meetings & Conventions (M&C) team traveled to Chicago recently for a sales mission and while there, attended the annual Chicago Association Forum Honors Gala where they sponsored a photo opportunity with the attendees. Nearly 100 meeting industry professionals stopped to have their photo taken with a CVB branded beach cruiser which was later given away in a drawing. The lucky winner was Becky Perry, CFO of the American Association of Endodontists, shown here with Todd. Check out the photo gallery!
Tiffany in Marketing Communications spoke at the industry’s Director of Sales (DOS) breakfast this morning about how the MarComm team is supporting the M&C team. Highlights include major focus areas, goals, strategies and tactics and examples of creative services. She also provided ways for industry partners to help.

Todd Bertka and Will Smith recently received recognition for completing the first City of VB Innovation Academy. As part of their course work, Todd and Will attended the Annual TLG, Transforming Local Government Conference in Tulsa last month. And received their certificates from City Manager Hansen last week.
