Travel Channel Ranks Resort Beach Among The Best Beaches for Families

Beach destinations in Croatia and Spain, it’s time to slide your beach towels over. Virginia Beach is joining in on some well-deserved basking! The Travel Channel recently revealed their 2018 list of the best beaches for families and our coastal city made the cut, alongside 22 other domestic and international destinations, including Hilton Head, San Diego and the Agios Georgios Beach in Greece. Here’s what the Travel Channel says: “There’s no shortage of things to do both on and off the beach in Virginia Beach. Walk or ride a surrey bike along the 3-mile boardwalk before snapping a selfie with the 34-foot bronze statue of King Neptune. Go horseback riding or take surfing lessons at Resort Beach, then let the kids go wild at Grommet Island Beach Park, a 100% wheelchair accessible children’s park.”

Moving People @ The VBCC

How do you move the parents and grandparents and others with disabilities into Virginia Beach City Public Schools High School graduations at the Convention Center?  With City contractors and golf carts. The Convention Center just completed the annual trek of graduates with 13 rehearsals and 13 ceremonies over six days. Welcoming an estimated 50,000 guests is a logistical challenge and timing is critical. To assist our guests with mobility challenges, special traffic and parking plans were developed. This included offering anyone who wasn’t up for a long walk a ride to VBCC’s front doors. Pictured are Ethan Knobel, Brian Taylor  (down front), Carl Morey (sitting), Justin Goodrich, James Mira, are regular security officers who work every day at VBCC to keep the building secure. They put on their customer service hats and assisted people from their cars, wheelchairs, walkers and crutches onto a small fleet of six-seat gas-powered vehicles right to VBCC’s front doors.

Here are a few shots of our awesome photographer/videographer capturing a client testimonial for the M&C  folks!  Thanks Will!

Congratulations are extended to all.

Where Are Millennials Moving? Virgina Beach Makes Top 10

10. Virginia Beach, Virginia

The top 10 wraps up in Virginia Beach, a newcomer to this ranking. It was a tight race between the 9th, 10th and 11th place cities. Virginia Beach fell short of Norfolk by only 13 millennials and beat 11th-placed Charlotte by only 57 millennials.

It was residents coming primarily from out of state that pushed Virginia Beach into 10th. In total, nearly 12,000 of the 19,100 millennials who immigrated to Virginia Beach came from out of state.
