The M&C Team Hosted the “Happy Hour” portion of the Opening reception recently at the Meeting Professionals International (Potomac) Chapter MACE Education Day last month. As part of the reception, M&C sponsored Virginia Beach Authentic Orange Crushes and conducted a customer drawing for a custom Beach Cruiser! The Beach Cruiser was won by Ms. Macarena De Martini, CMP – Communications and Events Manager with International Finance Corporation
Our team brought the 10 x 10 display and customers and attendees had fun posing for pics with the VB Beach Bike!

Team,
I am again asking for your support and participation in Earth Hour. The event takes place this Saturday, March 25 from 8:30 – 9:30 p.m. The purpose of Earth Hour is call attention to the need for climate change and to empower individuals, communities, businesses and governments to be a part of critical climate action for sustainable food and agriculture, climate education, conservation projects, renewable energy and climate-friendly legislation.
CLICK HERE to see the Mayor’s Proclamation, and please feel free to use as needed. The City of Virginia Beach’s website for Earth Hour is [www.vbgov.com/earth-hour]www.vbgov.com/earth-hour. Virginia Beach has received press coverage over the last few years, and we expect that will continue this year.

Kudos to VBCC Team Member Terence Zinemon!
DECA was in house Friday night (March 10), with DG providing dinner for 3700 hungry DECA attendees. DG used compostable plates, cups, utensils, and napkins to avoid sending waste to the landfill. Composting on this scale is relatively new at VBCC, and we are appreciative of Terence efforts. He went above and beyond, working directly with our compost hauler to successfully collect 700 pounds of material that otherwise would have gone to the landfill. Thank you Terence!!
It’s been busy first quarter at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.
With almost 60 events, including:
– 18 consumer shows (cars, boats, RVs, flower and garden, guns, etc)
– 5 large sporting events (wrestling, cheerleading, gymnastics(x2) and Shamrock)
– 3 large conventions (DECA, Fire and Rescue, Mary Kay)
– And more than 150,000 people through the doors, the VBCC team still managed to exceed customer expectations!
Look at this social media post:
The Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge was included within USA Today’s (36,682,913 unique monthly visitors) “Hidden gems of the National Park System,” chosen by the U.S. Department of Interior, which proudly protects America’s great outdoors. To be listed second in this roundup is huge. This stunning photo does a beautiful job of sharing the surroundings of Back Bay. Check it out!
In case you missed the staff meeting a few weeks ago, here is a link to the Marketing Communications unit presentation with voice over recording that includes perception study findings, spring leisure transient creative, new summer leisure creative and a sneak peek at our new summer commercial. Thanks Bryan Ryals for getting this set up!
