Live The Life
Team VB traveled to our nation’s capital for the annual ASAE (American Society of Association Executives) annual Springtime in the Park Expo April 27-28. The annual event draws thousands of meeting industry executives and event planners and was held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
CVB Staff, Todd Bertka and Dawn Whittaker were joined by Hotel Partners from Westin Town Center, Founders Inn and Spa, Wyndham Oceanfront Hotel and Holiday Inn North Beach! In addition, CVB rolled out a Sales and Brand promotion around the event that supported our efforts at the Expo – where planners could enter for a chance to win a Beach Cruiser bike!
Our support promotions included Metro Station Promotion and signage, A ½ page Ad in the Washington Post and a Washington Post image wrap. The booth traffic was brisk and CVB looks forward to pursuing the potential meetings business from this event!
The Virginia Beach Hotel Association and the CVB have been collaboratively working on an agenda to host the Virginia Tourism Corporation Welcome Center Staff for a familiarization (FAM) tour in Virginia Beach May 1-3, 2016. The purpose of the visit is to educate the Welcome Center Staff about Virginia Beach. The Virginia Welcome Center staff promotes attractions, destinations, events, dining and lodging establishments statewide. FAM tours provide attendees with the extra details and personal experiences that are crucial to accurately and passionately promote Virginia Beach. Welcome Center staff speak to hundreds of thousands of DRIVE TOURISM visitors in their Welcome Centers every year, and have these visitors’ attention because they are already here and looking for things to do.
