FYI –
- A contract for a sand replenishment project was awarded by the Army Corp of Engineers this past Friday.
- The goal of this project is to add protection to the seawall to avoid further erosion before hurricane season.
- The areas where the work will take place is the Resort Beach from 15th St. – 70th St. and all of Sandbridge Beach.
- Work is scheduled to start around June 15th and will be performed around the clock until completion, or in about six (6) weeks from the start date.
- Beaches will REMAIN OPEN; ingress and egress will be sectioned off for in the active work area and inconvenience should be minimal for beachgoers.
- MarComm is working with the city’s Central Communication Office on FAQ’S.
