Show of Support for Restaurant Industry

In a show of support and solidarity for our local restaurant industry partners impacted by the suspension of indoor dining in the midst of the coronavirus (COVID 19) pandemic, the Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) created several online resources for locals and visitors seeking take-out meals and curbside food pickup options.

With the ability to quickly make in-house edits and additions to our tourism website, the CVB marketing team researched, created and posted “Take-out Tuesday,” a nationwide push activated on March 24 to support local restaurants during COVID 19.

First, the team researched and created a new dropdown menu item from our main website navigation: Take-Out Options, which offers an updated listing of restaurants from across the city which will provide take-out meals and curbside service options.

Next, the CVB team created a custom landing page which includes user generated content from social posts: https://www.visitvirginiabeach.com/taste/restaurants/take-out-options/

Within the first hours of posting, more than 230 pageviews were captured. We will continue to populate this page with business listings which offer these and related services and promote via our blog and social channels.

We are committed to continue to seeks ways to further raise awareness of how the Virginia Beach community can support our local hospitality industry and will share new information as it becomes available.

Art of Healing Expressive Art Series: Creating Terrariums

On Friday, March 6 CVB employees Karen Kephart, Bryan Miller, Michelle Boyette and Susan Riley visited the VBStrong facilities to explore the Art of Healing Expressive Art Series: Creating Terrariums. Terrariums help to reduce stress and anxiety, increase energy levels, improve focus, and lower blood pressure levels. Wonderful experience!

Great Service From Nathan Sunday

Kudos to you, Nathan!

I just wanted to tell you we love Nathan Sunday.  He was so positive to take on a project and turn it around for our Cisco event tomorrow.  You all saved us.  Thank you for having Nathan on your team.

Never met him but could tell that he aims to please.  Which is rare nowadays.

Sincerely,

Steve Sterr
