On Friday, September 18 representatives from the Mid-Atlantic Shriner Association (MASA) were in Virginia Beach for a site inspection for future years. They toured several hotels, the convention center, the Virginia Aquarium and a few other venues. Although the 2019 MASA parade was canceled due to Hurricane Dorian and the 2020 MASA convention was canceled because of COVID-19, MASA is looking forward to hosting their conventions again in Virginia Beach for 2021 and 2022.
Attached is a picture of Mike Gordon (MASA Vice President), Johnny Bitzer (MASA President), Rob Govey (MASA Assistant Director General) and Mary Kelly (Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront) on a tour of the New Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront Hotel.
